Crime In Asheville; Is It Being Covered Up?~ Matt Cave ExclusiveLast week, after the show, Matt stopped by a small store in East Asheville. While he was in the store it was robbed. This was the fifth time that Matt was either a witness to or the victim of crime in Asheville in the past ten years. Matt asks, "Is this common? This averages out to an act of crime every two years... At this pace my luck will run out." Matt goes on to wonder aloud if the crime in Asheville may not be getting full coverage and attention due to this being a tourist destination. Matt will be asking others to give their thoughts and share their own experiences today on "Take A Stand!"

Cummings: "Mittan Must Be Exposed"~ HendersonvillePost.comAmong many things, online columnist accuses Matt of not having personal values, trying to dismantle the Republican Party, being disingenuous, being anti-military, anti-Christian, being biased against conservatives with "no bounds", using religion as a pawn for his political agenda, having a much larger audience then he deserves and that he should be shunned due to his "poisonous commentary". Did we miss anything else? Check out the column. (PS: Matt has invited the columnist to come on the program.)

Land-use plan evokes memories of Z-war~ The Asheville Citizen-TimesThe Buncombe County Planning Board has begun work to revise the county’s seven-year-old land use plan. Planning board members are meeting this week with various stakeholder groups including developers and community club members. The planning board is expected to have something for Buncombe County commissioners to review in June. Renewed talk of land use planning is already generating concern among some zoning opponents. They are suspicious of county commissioners and worry county leaders are simply using another word to push through a zoning plan.

Board Now Turns Attention of Black on to His Campaign Cash Ties to Video PokerAlso: Official- Decker filed false reportsAlso: Board interested in payer of Decker's legal fees~ Carolina JournalAfter three days investigating the campaign-finance activities of State House Speaker Jim Black and the state's optometrists, the State Board of Elections will now turn its attention to the contributions of the state's video poker industry. The board decided Friday to ask the Wake County District Attorney to investigate the campaign finance activity of optometrist Michael Scott Edwards and former state Rep. Michael Decker, whose 2003 change of parties helped Black become Co-Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives.

Duel immersion classes discussed all though the program.

Pro side...Good for children to learn to be able to compete in the work place. Which is good for the economy. Good for everyone to learn another languages.

Con side...It will balkanize America, It's another unnecessary and divisive element introduced into America. We could have the problem that Canada is facing concerning the two languages spoken there. The French want to secede from the English part, and form their own country. Having a common language unites people for a stronger, more unified country. English should be the official language, period.
